Made my trip!
Desperately needed to be connected while in Japan. Because my arrival within 2 days, the MiFi couldn't be delivered to the airport, so they had it shipped to my hotel- it was there waiting for me on check-in. What a great surprise!! I never lost service, even in the mountains of Nagano. Internet speed was great and the cost of the service was acceptable. I will definitely book from Japan WifiBuddy again.

WifiBuddy was our buddy!
My fiancé and I recently visited China & Japan, and picked up a pocket wifi from WifiBuddy. It was the best decision we made. It gave us unlimited access to the internet while on our trip, and helped make it easier to navigate the streets of Shinjuku. I would definitely recommend picking one up, if you happen to go for a trip to Japan. It was an easy pickup at the airport, and we returned it right back to the same place once we were on our way home.

Easy to use
The wifi buddy was easy to reserve, easy to pick up, and was a lifesaver for me, since I don't speak Japanese I was in constant need of Wi-Fi to help me get around, and for emergency translation purposes.

Works most of the time, but needs interaction sometimes.
When the device works, it works well. But it sometimes stops being connected after a period of inactivity, so you have to press the button to reactivate the connection.

Specifications
  • Requires a SIM Unlocked device with esim capability. If your device is locked, please contact your carrier to unlock it.
  • We include thorough instructions, via email, through our website and with customer service.
  • These are data-only SIM Cards. Carrier-based voice calls and text messaging are NOT supported. However, data-based messaging and telephony solutions such as Skype, Facetime, Whatsapp, Line etc. are supported.
  • To avoid provider validation complications, in some cases when users order far ahead of their actual trip, we will send a confirmation email, with a separate QR code later on, closer to the departure date.
