Amazing service
I have been recommending wifi buddy to everyone, the customer service is top notch the staff went above and beyond for us. The internet was amazing when we were in Tokyo AND even up north of Japan whilst at the snow. I was so pleased I even wrote a reddit post on the JapanTravel subreddit highly recommending you guys! Worked great!
I'm so glad we decided to rent a WifiBuddy. In an age with data heavy applications, one can't expect random free WiFi or even hotel WiFi to handle it. It used to, but it throttles you these days. If you want data to work like you're at home on your WiFi (presuming you have good WiFi at home), get a WiFiBuddy. Your trip will be more enjoyable.

A necessity for non-frequent travellers to Japan!
Easiest set-up I've dealt with in a long time, press power and you have internet. Once it's on, it's relatively fast and rarely, if ever, drops out of reception. It helped us every step of the way. Great value for money, when I return to Japan, I'll be getting another wifibuddy!

A Godsend in Japan

  • Requires a SIM Unlocked device with esim capability. If your device is locked, please contact your carrier to unlock it.
  • We include thorough instructions, via email, through our website and with customer service.
  • These are data-only SIM Cards. Carrier-based voice calls and text messaging are NOT supported. However, data-based messaging and telephony solutions such as Skype, Facetime, Whatsapp, Line etc. are supported.
  • To avoid provider validation complications, in some cases when users order far ahead of their actual trip, we will send a confirmation email, with a separate QR code later on, closer to the departure date.
