JapanWifiBuddy eSIM

We got the Diamond WiFi buddy, and it definitely had the best reception of all the wifi buddies (I’ve had experience with all of them). We were in Japan for two weeks, and used it for SNS, a couple video streamings- barely went to 30% use! We turned our WiFi buddy off when we were not using it, and during train/shinkansen rides. Only downside is that the battery life lasted about half a day if kept on the whole time, that it heated up quite easily, and the cord to the portable charger was not working, but this may be an isolated issue.

We did a 15 day tour of Japan and opted for WiFiBuddy for pocket wifi while out and about. There were three of us connected at all times during the day. We had uninterrupted service while in Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Hiroshima and Kanazawa. Only a few minutes interruption on some of the long tunnels on high speed rail. The unlimited data plan was great for uploading photos and doing several Facebook Live events during our trip. The supplied back-up battery was a great help as we got about a half day use out of a full charge on the unit. Pick-up and return mailing from Narita airport was a breeze.

Never had a problem. Was the best choice made when traveling for wifi!

SO happy I decided to go with JapanWiFiBuddy for my time in Japan. I was living/working in Japan for 2.5 months and I rented an apartment without any internet access. JapanWiFiBuddy was PERFECT for my needs. I got the diamond package and this allowed me to use internet in my apartment in addition to taking it with me everywhere I went so I had wifi/data for my phone (no need to purchase a data phone plan while here). Further, I contacted JapanWiFiBuddy before my arrival to ensure that the wifi could support my needs. I use A LOT of YouTube, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Apple Music in my day-to-day life to unwind from work. JapanWifiBuddy assured me that it could handle these needs and they were absolutely correct. I was able to stream everything without any delay and my data was never throttled even though I was using a lot. The only time I noticed some slowdown in internet was during chaotic weather when Japan experienced severe floods and typhoons, but this far and few between and not really the fault of JWB. Thanks again for providing a solution to my internet needs while in Japan! I would absolutely recommend and use this service again if/when I come back to Japan.
