WifiBuddy
We ordered the Wifi Buddy for our Japan trip and it made the entire experience so much better. It had fantastic coverage everywhere, including the summit of Mt Fuji, and was easy to use and reliable. Wholeheartedly recommended if you are planning a visit.

First time user
We used our WiFi buddy for 17 days while in Japan. It worked immediately upon opening and was used up until the moment we placed it in the envelope to ship back. We did not get a signal while in tunnels or in more rural areas but that was to be expected. The only improvement I could ask for is the range to be greater. There were 4 of us connected and we had to be pretty close to the person carrying the WiFi buddy. Cost was cheap compared to what my carrier wanted to charge for international use. Would rent it again if we ever travel Japan again.

Total Lifesaver
We would not have made it around Japan without this! We had constant connection wherever we went. The only thing that would have made this better would have been having the extra battery pack but we discovered that our portable phone chargers did the job!

Worked exactly as promised
Wifibuddy just worked perfectly. Never had any problems, just seemlessly in the background. We used our phones and laptop just as we would in the UK. We travelled to Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Nara and even Koyasan and we had a great connection everywhere. Thank you Wifibuddy :)

Specifications
  • Requires a SIM Unlocked device with esim capability. If your device is locked, please contact your carrier to unlock it.
  • We include thorough instructions, via email, through our website and with customer service.
  • These are data-only SIM Cards. Carrier-based voice calls and text messaging are NOT supported. However, data-based messaging and telephony solutions such as Skype, Facetime, Whatsapp, Line etc. are supported.
  • To avoid provider validation complications, in some cases when users order far ahead of their actual trip, we will send a confirmation email, with a separate QR code later on, closer to the departure date.
