2 and a half weeks without cell signal and no problems
I used the diamond wifi buddy for 2.5 weeks in Tokyo, Kyoto, Nara, Himeji, Hiroshima, and Osaka with no real issues. The battery will die over a long day but that is what the backup is for. I was very happy with this service and it was significantly cheaper than paying for international roaming. I would use this device again.

Easy to use. Fast. No need to pick it up from airport.
We used the pocket wi-fi everywhere in Japan. Even though some places gave us free wi-fi connections, the speed was not good. We tried free wi-fi at some coffee shops, train stations and shopping centres, the speed were slow and there were drop-out. Since we used Google Map a lot, it's very important to have connection at all time. I did not use the power bank which is part of the package. After I finished, I just posted the whole package back to the company. I will use it again next time I visit Japan. May be during the 2020 Olympic !

Amazing
Great product. The rental wifi was nice and small, not heavy at all. We got the diamond pack for 2 weeks time. The package came with the pocket wifi, a portable charger and cord. I kept the WiFi on basically 24/7 and plugged it into the portable charger whenever it got low (I just couldn't go without WiFi lol )and it worked wonderfully! My boyfriend and I were the ones that mainly used it, and my family would occasionally tap into it. We barely made a dent in the GB usage even though we were constantly using it. If you're looking for a good pocket wifi that won't fail and has a lot of available data, definitely go with this one.

Wifi Buddy
Renting the Wifi Buddy for our two weeks in Japan was a great success. Having access to Wifi at all times was invaluable, especially when needing maps. The Wifi Buddy was easy to arrange, pick up and drop off.

- We include thorough instructions, via email, through our website and with customer service.
- These are data-only SIM Cards. Carrier-based voice calls and text messaging are NOT supported. However, data-based messaging and telephony solutions such as Skype, Facetime, Whatsapp, Line etc. are supported.
- To avoid provider validation complications, in some cases when users order far ahead of their actual trip, we will send a confirmation email, with a separate QR code later on, closer to the departure date.
