Very efficient except battery runs
Very efficient except battery runs out by the evening. Good that there is a back up battery along.

Excellent speed and service, but battery had some issues
Japan Wifibuddy was great. They were very easy to contact and ensured the device was available for me at the hotel when I arrived. Speeds were great and there were only one or two times over the course of two weeks where I lost connectivity.
My only complaint would be the battery. The Diamond rental claimed it would last 12+ hours and come with an external battery, but I found that it seemed to only last around 6 hours before needing to be recharged. The external battery also seemed to run out quicker than expected, although I don't remember exactly how long.
Overall, it was a great service and I would use them again in a heartbeat.

Great coverage and value!
My wife and I agreed that renting the pocket wifi was the best decision we could have made on our 2 week trip to Japan!

Easy way to explore Japan.
Having the WiFi buddy made exploring with Google maps and communicating with friends very easy. I also did not come close to any of the data limits.

Specifications
- Requires a SIM Unlocked device with esim capability. If your device is locked, please contact your carrier to unlock it.
- We include thorough instructions, via email, through our website and with customer service.
- These are data-only SIM Cards. Carrier-based voice calls and text messaging are NOT supported. However, data-based messaging and telephony solutions such as Skype, Facetime, Whatsapp, Line etc. are supported.
- To avoid provider validation complications, in some cases when users order far ahead of their actual trip, we will send a confirmation email, with a separate QR code later on, closer to the departure date.
