We had a great use of our Wi-Fi buddy. We were mainly in big cities and it worked out well. It is small, portable, and comes with all the equipment we need. We had the silver Wi-Fi buddy which had enough high sooed internet for our navigational uses. We were greatful it was unlimited so we never had to worry about overage charges and could do social media in the slow speed after we we done navigating for the day. Although it was a little too slow to desire to send more than a few pictures, it met all our needs. The only issue we had is that putting everything into our pick made it too high for return in the mail slots (which are more narrow than they are in the US). We had to unseal, leave a plug out of the cloth pouch and just in the envelope, and tape at the airline desk, which was doable. We highly recommend.

I wouldn’t hesitate using this again in the future. Everything was excellent!

Having our WifiBuddy was a game changer for our trip. When cell phone reception was poor, the WifiBuddy always came through. Great for navigation and looking up store and restaurant hours on the fly! Battery life was pretty good (we were able to get by charging it every night, but carried around the extra battery pack just in case). It was easy to pick up and drop off from the Narita airport. We couldn’t recommend this more!

WiFi Buddy made the process simple and the cost was very fair. No problems with network availability and the extra power pack easily lasts a long day out and about.

I was hesitant and anxious about the process, but this is so easy. The pocket wifi was delivered to my hotel (Saeko even contacted my hotel to ensure that my name was on the hotel guest list since I was part of a tour) and was waiting for me at the front desk when I checked in. Easy to connect (even my mom was able to do it on her own), kept in my back pocket throughout my tour. When done, I just put everything in the return envelope which was included and dropped off at the post office at the airport. Wifi connection was smooth throughout my trip (except through long tunnels, and Japan has a lot of them, but that happens everywhere). I was conservative in my usage of data, but you're provided 100GB - I only used 11GB on my 12 day trip. If/when I return to Japan, I will definitely rent again. I definitely recommend Japan WifiBuddy!
