I loved using the wifibuddy! The internet was super fast and convenient. When I arrived in Tokyo, the package was ready for me at my hostel. I used it immediately and had no problems connecting to the wifi. The support team was also great at answering my questions. Would recommend!

I ordered the Platinum Japan WifiBuddy for my recent 12 day trip in Japan. The device worked very well in built-up urban areas, but had little to no effect underground, in subway tunnels, or in the wilderness of Mt Koya in Wakayama. The staff had prewarned me of this, which was appreciated, but not until I had already purchased the device. I thought that the Platinum package would have faster speeds and better access than the Silver Packages and I didn't quite realize the limitations from reading the website. It wasn't a terrible inconvenience but for my next trip. I'll definitely upgrade to the next Platinum Package. For me, having a portable wifi is indispensable and I am so grateful this service exists at all.

The Platinum plus is the device to get. Fast speed and coverage everywhere. the battery lasted all day with the power bank. These guys will reply immediately when asked a question and will help you out the best they can. Will definitely use them again.

As a first time traveler in Japan, I did some research on Wifi products. JapanWifiBuddy had some very good reviews and was priced less than other providers. We chose the PlatinumPlus device, which has a 7 GB data allowance for the month at 4G speed. After that, the speed slows down to 3G. The device was mailed to our hotel and was there when we arrived. We spent 12 days in Japan and it worked flawlessly. They provided a case, charging cables, external battery pack and return envelope. The device worked well everywhere we went, even in the many train and subway stations we were in. The battery lasted most of the day and we only needed to use the battery pack one or two times, just to be safe. We used the device for the usual tourist apps: Facebook, Google, Maps, Yelp and email. We finished the trip at just under the 7 GB data allowance, so there was no slow down in speed for us. The device and accessories were put in the return envelope and we mailed it back the morning of our departure. Based on our experience, I would highly recommend Japan Wifi Buddy to other travelers.
