It works
I am using the buddy while travelling around Japan for three weeks. It does what I want. Internet access on all my devices.
The buddy was waiting for me at my hotel as promised fully charged and ready to go.
Coverage is good. Only lost internet once or twice in remote areas.
Battery live is more thank experted. I only need the extra Battery if I forget to charge after using it all day.
I am very happy with my wifi-buddy.

Great experience
JapanWifiBuddy made the process of renting a pocket WiFi very easy. The device was waiting in my hotel room when I checked in and I just dropped it off on the provided envelope at the post office at the airport on my way back.
I chose the Platinum Plus because I was traveling to Tsushima and wanted the extended coverage area. I never had problems with coverage in Tsushima. Speeds were a bit slower there but that was a matter of the network and not JapanWiFiBuddy. Speeds were quite a bit faster while I was in Fukuoka.
I would highly recommend JapanWiFiBuddy for pocket WiFi rental while in Japan.

Kept us connected!
Delivered straight to our hotel. Between our WiFibuddy and Google maps, we knew where we were all the time. Nice piece of mind! Dropped in mail when we left. Couldn't have been much easier!

Awesome! Highly recommend!!
Worth every penny. Constant access to google maps, google translate and the web had a huge impact on our trip. We easily navigated our way through cities saving fortunes in cab fare and google translate crushed the language barrier seamlessly. Only time the wifi signal was weak was in Nara. And on our 1 day in Nara we saw just how different the trip would have been without those tools. Still had a great day in Nara but communication and mobility were dramatically impacted.

Specifications
- Requires a SIM Unlocked device with esim capability. If your device is locked, please contact your carrier to unlock it.
- We include thorough instructions, via email, through our website and with customer service.
- These are data-only SIM Cards. Carrier-based voice calls and text messaging are NOT supported. However, data-based messaging and telephony solutions such as Skype, Facetime, Whatsapp, Line etc. are supported.
- To avoid provider validation complications, in some cases when users order far ahead of their actual trip, we will send a confirmation email, with a separate QR code later on, closer to the departure date.
