We picked up wifibuddy at Tokyo's airport, then we traveled across Japan for vacation. Everywhere the coverage was excellent. I shared the connection with my family without any load problem. Even the battery duration was good, just a charge every night was enough. We were realy satisfied.

The rental process was very smooth and all email inquiries were responded to quickly in English. Delivery to our Tokyo hotel was flawless - we signed for the package when we arrived. The return envelope was simple and easy after finding the mail box in Narita just before security. The whole rental process and customer service was 5 star. I subtracted one star because the service was spotty at times. It would be lightening fast, then no service. We used the device in Tokyo (good continuous service), Nagano, Hakuba, and Kanazawa (all spotty at times). Halfway through the trip, I played with the settings and it seemed to work better when the device settings were changed (I think it was a boost setting, but it decreased battery life). I wish I would have known a little more about changing settings beforehand. Battery life was adequate, and it was nice to have the backup battery included.

The device worked great, and the data was more than enough. Only downside was it drained it's battery very quickly, and the spare battery provided didn't seem to charge that fast. We ended up using the spare battery we brought most of the time instead.

Having our wifi buddy allowed us to navigate through Japan. It worked great and the process couldn't have been easier. It was waiting for us at our hotel and we just handed the return prepaid envelope to our concierge when we left. Great experience!
