Absolutely would use again. What a life saver to have backup battery with the standard in a nice pouch to keep with you. Had a second backup from the room. Use it smart and have plenty of no worry use. All good here.

Overall very good experience
The WiMax 2 speeds never really came close to the advertised max speed, but the Platinum Plus was fast enough in the city. We did have some trouble with building penetration when using the high-speed only mode. The 7GB limit on the wider coverage mode was reached a little faster than expected on a 24 day trip so you may need to be aware of any automatic uploads your phone may do (Facebook/Google Photos) when using it.

Affordable and reliable. A solo traveler must have!
Finding a free wifi hotspot in Japan is not easy, I learned that the hard way during my first visit in the country. My friends rented theirs from the airport, and it is waaaay more expensive — although their's are faster. I mostly used google maps, facebook, gmail, youtube, instagram and viber. It can't stream Netflix but it doesn't matter, I did not come to japan to watch shows online.
