Great experience with Japan Wifi Buddy
We recently returned from Japan where we rented this router. It was an excellent experience. Tre is very easy to work with and communicates quickly. The router itself worked perfectly everywhere we went (Hiroshima, Kyoto and surroundings and Tokyo and surroundings). Battery lasts almost the whole day and they also provide a spare. It's great to have Internet (and Google Maps) while traveling in Japan. IMHO, this is a must-have for your trip. Highly recommend Japan Wifi Buddy.

Great Device !!
Rented the "Silver JapanWifiBuddy" for 3 weeks. Used it in Tokyo for a few days and the rest of the time, in the rural Japan Alps/Tateyama areas. Always had wifi. Could not watch Netflix with it in the hotel room, but I could listen to XM radio. Excellent for email/paying bills online/Facebook. Will rent again when I return to Japan.

WiFi Buddy Worked A Treat !
We were travelling from Tokyo to Nagano to Sado Island and back to Tokyo. WifiBuddy worked as advertised everywhere. From GPS to Skype calls to a wifi hotspot. Bandwidth dropped in the remote areas of Sado Island, but manageable and we expected it. The additional battery pack was a bonus. We would not hesitate to recommend this service.

  • We include thorough instructions, via email, through our website and with customer service.
  • These are data-only SIM Cards. Carrier-based voice calls and text messaging are NOT supported. However, data-based messaging and telephony solutions such as Skype, Facetime, Whatsapp, Line etc. are supported.
  • To avoid provider validation complications, in some cases when users order far ahead of their actual trip, we will send a confirmation email, with a separate QR code later on, closer to the departure date.
