This was my 3rd time using the Japanwifi buddy service and device. These folks have quickly because my go-to for a rental WiFi device and for good reason. The WiFi kept a strong steady signal the entirety of our trip and held a good battery life. Would recommend to anyone who wants to connect multiple devices in Japan.

Worked perfectly and often better than Hotel WiFi’s. While I didn’t perform any speed tests, never noticed a particular bottleneck (bandwidth wise) and had very responsible latency/jitter (FaceTime video/audio, AT&T WiFi calling, and VPN/SSH to servers in US). Used in and around Shibuya, Shinjuku, Ginza and Hakone (Lake Ashi).

Worked like a charm the whole time we were there. I was even able to do calls over WiFi which made it easy to keep things rolling back home. I highly recommend wifibuddy.

Ordering online was super easy and it was even delivered directly to my hotel! Return was even easier as a reply paid envelope was provided and all I had to do was drop it at hotel reception!

Had three phone's connected to the hot spot with no problems at all, great speed and great signal throughout Tokyo!

We had great service everywhere we went in Japan (even along the shinkasen line). The instructions were clear about picking up and dropping off. Well worth it!

We were impressed with how well our WifiBuddy worked for our 2-week trip to Japan. We were concerned with the process of picking it up at the post office inside the airport and mailing it back, but it couldn't have gone any smoother. The included setup instructions were very clear and simple. Also, one tip, if you are planning long days out and about (10-12 hours), and want to stay connected, take an extra battery pack to ensure our WifiBuddy (and phones!) are always charged up.

We rented the wifibuddy on our recent 8 day trip to Japan. We found it very easy to pick up at the airport from the post office in Narita. When we got on the train into Tokyo I turned it on and it was so easy to connect our two phones to it & hey presto we had internet. We travelled around quite a bit on our trip and didnt loose connection once. I would advise you take the charger with you as if you're out for a long day the battery won't last, but a charger is provided so its not a problem. Leads to charge the buddy and the charger are provided, theres also a handy little pouch to keep the wifi buddy i. Posting it back was also very easy. We just put everything in the envelope provided and posted before midnight on our last day, we just popped it in the postbox by our hotel. Japan is not an easy place to get wifi, especially if youre travelling around so this device really was a godsend, I highly recommend it.

I had great connection throughout my trip. I was still connected in the metro and also in the outskirts of the city!

We looked at a couple of pocket wi-fi companies and settled on Japan Wifi-Buddy because they made it really simple to understand the process. Making the reservation online was easy, and the customer service team was communicative with us on directions and what to do, including up to the end, where we sent an email the morning that we were leaving Japan to ask about where to drop off in Haneda Airport. Price was very reasonable, about 10 bucks a day U.S. Pocket Wi-fi lasted about 7-8 hours, and then we used the back up which lasted for the rest of the day. For us, that meant we left our place around 9 and we didn't get back home until about 8. Plenty of Wi-fi! It was all very easy and convenient.

It was easy to use and worked in most places outside of extreme middles of nowhere/nature.

I had rented 2 Diamond Wifibuddy for my vacation and 2 weeks japan cruise. It worked very well but few days during the cruise, one of them stop working. I emailed them and they help solved the problem. Since then both of them were great products, above all they have excellent customer service.

We had no issues other than delivery wasn't at our hotel when we arrived but it did arrive later that same day. It worked perfectly and we were very impressed by the thorough communication.

Aside from while driving through a few tunnels, we had service all of the time. The speeds were fast and better than the WiFi at our hotel. The included power bank was a great addition as although the battery lasts quite awhile, if you're out all day you will need it. Returning the device is easy just make sure you try to make everything lay as flat as possible in the return envelope or you'll have issues getting it in a mail slot. Highly recommended.

I inputted the wrong flight info and realized that I couldn't get my wifi router when I had landed. I contacted Japan Wifi Buddy and they were super helpful! They were able to reroute a router to the place that I was staying during the trip! The router worked perfectly and excellent while we were in Japan. The router lasted most of the day at Disney Sea and needed a quick recharge from a portable battery charger. I think it needed a recharge because we were inside the rides (no signal) and it was using a lot of power hunting for a signal. All of the other days we never had battery issues. Thank everyone!

The Diamond Wifibuddy was awesome, easily the best decision we ever made!! We never really had problems with it, aside from it being a little easy to overheat. But it was never an inconvenience for us! We loved how we basically had connection everywhere and how good the battery life was. The instructions given on how to use it and mail it back to you guys was easy to understand, so that was appreciated! Also, we felt very supported from the prompt responses to our emails. We will definitely be using the Wifibuddy service again next time we go to Japan!

We rented two JapanWifiBuddys for our 14 Day holiday in Japan, and both of Them worked Great and without any issues. Would definitely recommend to anyone going to Japan, since it made our trip soooo much easier.

I think visitors who come to japan will need to some sort of access to data, and we are glad we chose the pocket wifi buddy. It helped us navigate the transit systems with no problems! We loved the experience! Thank you

We traveled through Japan successfully BECAUSE of the Japan WifiBuddy. We only used Google Maps to get around, so it was important to have an internet connection at all times. The wifi was fast -- considering we shared it between two cellphones and we had several apps open at once. My bf was always on PokemonGo while on the trip and he never had an issue. I would also go on Instagram/E-mail every now and then when I had a moment and the internet was still super fast. We utilized Google to search all the time and find places to eat or things to do. We also needed Google Translate frequently. We had a great internet connection for about 97% of the time. The 3% of the time it didn't work was in the Bamboo Garden in Kyoto, some other small streets in Kyoto, and randomly, at the vicinity of (not a main) train station in Tokyo. This was after we had already restarted the device. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Japan Wifibuddy during your trip to Japan -- it will make your trip.
