Overall it was great and we had internet access everywhere we went. The device got quite hot and the battery required occasional recharging.

Great service! Would definitely recommend/ use it again

The whole process was very easy and simple. Picked up at the airport without a problem. Super fast internet pretty much wherever we were; even on the shinkansen! Returning it was really simple as well, they give you a return envelope. Never had a problem with the device, it just needed to be turned off and given a rest every now again due to the hot weather. The internet was never throttled at any point as well. Would definitely be using again when I return to Japan.

Absolutely awesome service. Friendly contact to define all the needed informations. The wifi Buddy was delivered to our first hotel with a powerbank and an envelope to drop it off at the airport post office. There wasn't a single time that it wouldn't work or would run out of battery due to the additional loading with the powerbank :-). We will get it again once we come back to Japan! We loved our WifiBuddy! My husband and I picked ours up from the Post Office at the airport. Our buddy came with a an external battery, which was very useful. We set it up before leaving the airport. All we did was turn it on and connect to it from our phones. We had a 3 week trip, my first time, so having internet access was important to know how to get around, help translate, get in touch with our friends/family, etc. The Internet quality was great and very fast. Returning the WiFi Buddy was super easy at the Post Office in the airport! I would definitely use this product again!

I used the Diamond WifiBuddy for the better part of a year, and found the service consistent and reliable. The team also do a great job at ensuring delivery if you can't collect at the airport (they'll pick your nearest post office and send you a detailed map). Will definitely use again.

When the wifi was working the signal was great, but it would often shut off- even if the battery was fine. We repeatedly had to restart it because it would disconnect from our phones.

Worked great for a family of six, had a very long battery life with an equally long lasting portable battery that it comes with. Receiving and mailing back the WifiBuddy was straightforward. Overall, it made our first trip to japan a lot easier and I highly recommend this to others.

We recently returned from a 2-week holiday in Japan, and our Japan Wifi Buddy was a key element of the success of our holiday. It was delivered (as requested) to our first hotel, and we carried it with us all the time, and returned it at the end in the reply-paid envelope supplied. Great customer service and great wifi reception regardless of our location meant that we were connect to the Internet at all times, which was exactly what we were after. Many thanks! So handy! The pocket wifi lasted for 10+ hours and was super easy to just pop into our bag and use all day. It was amazing to not have to worry about going over data limits. I would definitely recommend!

Had a great experience with Japan WiFi Buddy. The ordering was simple, pickup at the post office in the airport went smoothly, and the data service was rock solid and worked everywhere we went.

I used the diamond wifi buddy for 2.5 weeks in Tokyo, Kyoto, Nara, Himeji, Hiroshima, and Osaka with no real issues. The battery will die over a long day but that is what the backup is for. I was very happy with this service and it was significantly cheaper than paying for international roaming. I would use this device again.

We used the pocket wi-fi everywhere in Japan. Even though some places gave us free wi-fi connections, the speed was not good. We tried free wi-fi at some coffee shops, train stations and shopping centres, the speed were slow and there were drop-out. Since we used Google Map a lot, it's very important to have connection at all time. I did not use the power bank which is part of the package. After I finished, I just posted the whole package back to the company. I will use it again next time I visit Japan. May be during the 2020 Olympic !

Great product. The rental wifi was nice and small, not heavy at all. We got the diamond pack for 2 weeks time. The package came with the pocket wifi, a portable charger and cord. I kept the WiFi on basically 24/7 and plugged it into the portable charger whenever it got low (I just couldn't go without WiFi lol )and it worked wonderfully! My boyfriend and I were the ones that mainly used it, and my family would occasionally tap into it. We barely made a dent in the GB usage even though we were constantly using it. If you're looking for a good pocket wifi that won't fail and has a lot of available data, definitely go with this one.

Renting the Wifi Buddy for our two weeks in Japan was a great success. Having access to Wifi at all times was invaluable, especially when needing maps. The Wifi Buddy was easy to arrange, pick up and drop off.
