Awesome Product!
This hotspot made our Japan trip amazing! We were never worried about getting lost and it worked out perfectly. The only issue we had was that the platinum one did not have service on the drive between Tokyo and Kyoto (which we kind of expected). But we also ordered the silver one, which had service there, so we were able to switch between the two. You cannot beat the price of these. Definitely rent one straight from Japan, don't bother buying one of these hotspots in the US! When we go back to Japan, we will definitely use Japan Wifi Buddy again!

Great Value and Helpful Staff
The device arrived as promised and work right out of the box. I, unfortunately, reset the device and caused it to no longer work, entirely my fault. Tre was quick to respond and able to resolve the issue. My trip wouldn't have been the same without this. A must have.

Fast connection with Reception everywhere we went. Back up battery which was very useful on longer trips. Used extensively for 15 days whilst travelling in Japan and never let me down. Great value considering there were far more expensive options on offer. Also worked with corporate VPN in case any of you need to work during your travels.

Great addition to our trip to Japan ...
The buddy is terrific to have while traveling extensively in Japan Initially I had a bit of trouble but emailed the company and Tre was very efficient in replying and getting me back on track I recommend obtaining a buddy while in Japan It was a great asset to us 4 stars

  • We include thorough instructions, via email, through our website and with customer service.
  • These are data-only SIM Cards. Carrier-based voice calls and text messaging are NOT supported. However, data-based messaging and telephony solutions such as Skype, Facetime, Whatsapp, Line etc. are supported.
  • To avoid provider validation complications, in some cases when users order far ahead of their actual trip, we will send a confirmation email, with a separate QR code later on, closer to the departure date.
