It's fast, but loses connection in trains
It's fast and lasts for a good time. But it loses connection when you're travelling on the trains, and for that reason alone, I wouldn't get the platinum one again. But if you don't mind, the speed is good.

Excellent Little Gizmo
Got the silver WiFiBuddy and it worked brilliantly. We didn't use it that heavily, mainly for getting directions, but it didn't once let us down. Pick up from Narita airport was seamless and the service from JapanWifiBuddy.com was excellent. Would recommend to anyone.

Punctual, excellent service.
It worked very well for a droid phone and tablet. I had the silver plan and it was more than enough for GPS, Email, occasional questions on the internet, and a few skype p/calls to US. Never did I need to use the enclosed extra charger, after 12 hrs there was plenty of charge in the mifi, which I then plugged in for a few hours at the hotel. Would recommend without reservations. Thank you.

Awesome portable wi-fi rental!
Tre was super friendly and responsive, the hotspot came with pre-labeled return envelope and a battery backup -- and the signal was perfect between the Tokyo and Kyoto areas. Receiving & returning the portable hotspot was very easy, so no complaints there. I'd recommend this tier, 'cause my friend and I burned through almost all of our 7GB of data over the course of two weeks, what with using Google Maps and such constantly to navigate. Definitely a must when you go to Japan!

  • We include thorough instructions, via email, through our website and with customer service.
  • These are data-only SIM Cards. Carrier-based voice calls and text messaging are NOT supported. However, data-based messaging and telephony solutions such as Skype, Facetime, Whatsapp, Line etc. are supported.
  • To avoid provider validation complications, in some cases when users order far ahead of their actual trip, we will send a confirmation email, with a separate QR code later on, closer to the departure date.
