Easy to use and super reliable. Organised for delivery at hote and returning the device was simple.

Had no real concerning issues with the WiFi device, other than making sure it didn't overheat in the pouch. Internet speeds were acceptable throughout the whole duration of renting the device, at all city locations visited.

Service was great. Was kept informed throughout the entire process. Would use again.

Rarely dropped coverage and only in the remotest areas of Japan within tree cover in Okinawa. The speeds dip in rural Japan but you'll always stay connected. Blazing speeds within major city areas and a must have if you intend to travel Japan!

The wifi we rented did exactly as advertised and the customer service was great too! The only minor problem we had was the pocket wifi tends to disconnect from the internet after a while - we had to "wake" the modem up, and reconnect by pressing the power button. I would definitely use the service again!

Worked well. Happy with service. Pick up was a little tricky; would’ve been easier to pick up at arrivals than navigating to departures.

It would be wonderful if we can return pock wifi in the airport cause on yhe way back to airport from our hotel without wifi it quite un comfortable.

A necessity for my trip to Japan, the wifi was consistently reliable. I always had a fast connection that would last all day. I never had to worry about it, so it let me enjoy my trip as much as possible. Will definitely use again on my next trip.

Although the wifi was a bit unresponsive/slow at times, restarting the device generally fixed it. Having wifi throughout the trip was super helpful. Big thanks to Ri for helping with some logistics in shipping the device. This is my second time using this device and it's fully met my expectations both times. Definitely recommend!

I used the diamond wifi buddy for an 8 day trip in Japan and absolutely loved it! The speeds were great, my only issue was that I would sometimes need to reset the device because it would lose signal, but that was fairly rare (maybe 1 time a day) but for the price it was a fantastic value and made the trip go so well!

The device was received at a convenient location in my arriving terminal. Our party of 3 had uninterrupted wifi access throughout our 12 day Japanese adventure. This included some remote locations, trains, autos, subways, hotel rooms, and wandering about the cities. We had several high-capacity batteries (not included) which ensured we never ran out of juice. Device was easy to setup asnd provided fast internet access from our smartphones. I found this service a great value, total cost was less than 10 USD per day.

I recently returned from a great trip to Japan which would have been extremely difficult if it was not for renting a pocket modem from Japan WffiBuddy. Very easy and simple to order with the modem being delivered to my Hotel in Osaka. I then used it for over two weeks of traveling. Signal was always very strong as was the coverage. JapanWifi buddy supply everything right down to a rechargeable extra battery and a fully addressed envelope to return the modem to them. Its easy, reliable and I highly recommend them and the product.

Just get it, it's a must, absolutely necessary and top not quality. Streaming while over the shinkansen? Not a problem! 110% recommended.

Rented for about 2 weeks and was very reliable and was efficient. The battery lasts maybe 5-6 hours so I loved that they included portable charger along with the portable WiFi. I rented from a company in another country and they do not automatically include portable charger. Thought the price was very fair. The pickup and drop off was very easy and efficient. Would use them again next time I am in Japan.

I rented a Diamond WifiBuddy for our group of four travellers. The hotspot worked flawlessly, easily handling four simultaneous streams. Wifi was fast and worked inside many buildings and the subway. Pick-up and drop-off worked flawlessly. The only issue that we had was that the supplied external battery did not work. Luckily we were travelling with our own external battery and used it to charge the unit instead. (The battery in the unit typically lasted about 10 hours with heavy usage.)

It always worked. Never had any problems with it. Battery life sucked but the second battery they provide was always enough to get us through the day.

On my arrival I found the post office at Narita Airport easy to find thanks to the useful maps I was given by the Japan Wi-Fi buddy team. It was very easy to go online straight away. You literally just turn it on, find the Wi-Fi buddy in the Wi-Fi network, input the passcode which is nicely placed on the back of the system and off you go. Very easy! Great idea that they give you a power bank to charge the system as I was out all day. The internet speed was great too. Take a bag with you or have something with pockets so you can charge the system on the go. Being out all day I was having to charge my phone and the system. I was using the diamond package. The only way to improve the Wi-Fi buddy is to have a longer battery life. But that being said the extra charger came in handy and charged it quickly. I’d still give it 5 stars! Great friendly team at Japan Wi-Fi Buddy too! I love Japan and will be back.

We traveled to Tokyo, Kyoto, and the Five Lakes region around Mt. Fuji. The wifi was great and quite fast except a little spotty in the five lakes region (pretty rural area so it was to be expected) I traveled with my wife, and we both connected only our phones. We would usually start using the wifibuddy around 9am and around 6pm it would die. Luckily they included an extra battery but it would have been nice if it lasted all day on its own battery. Overall in two weeks we used just under 20GBs so I am not sure if that is heavy usage or not.
